After last week’s winter storm, we got some pretty mild weather. Unfortunately, it came with a lot of rain that watered out my plans for “Big Paul”. Nevertheless, there where some dry periods. Can’t rain forever. Though, some areas got something close to a Noachian flood. Anyway, there was time between the showers to do some patching and some cleaning.
Funny enough, rips and tears really pull down the overall appearance and make a very bad impression. So, I started patching things up.
Well, I could not get the right color, but what a difference it makes anyway!
Now, the old car reminds me very much of my old body
It’s almost a metaphor: Wear and tear takes its toll and sure enough I find myself patching up a lot of things. Unlike my car, I do not have the choice “to buy new” and replace the object of nuisance.
Well, it may seem that medicine is getting pretty close to it, like tooth implants, organ transplants – you name it. Luckily, I don’t need that heavy type of replacements.
However, we may as well face it: our bodies are slowly deteriorating. The only thing we can do is to take good care of what is still working fine and slow down the process of aging.
I am curious. What is it you are doing to keep you healthy?

Hi Minson
Remember from the Lord’s Chapel? I enjoy reading your blog posts by you and your partner. Lee and I are still together and doing much the same as you. Now in our 70’s, we are staying as fit and healthy as we can 🙂 We run a native plant nursery now so that keeps us active for the growing season. During the winter I get lazy and read alot of books. I also do yoga on a regular basis, like 3-4 times a week, teaching. We try to eat from our gardens as much as possible. We have fruit trees and I preserve alot of it for the winter, canning and freezing. We also love to do stonework and mosaic work on the walls of our house and sheds. Keep up the posts and have fun! I loved the denim patch on your car seat 🙂 Hugs from West Virginia…..
Hi Joyce
Thank you so much for your comment!!! I do remember you and your gentle smile. It’s great to hear that you and Lee are doing well. It seems, you are a bit ahead of where I and my partner are heading to: you own your home and you can grow your own food. That is so precious. And, as far as I remember, you live in a beautiful area in the country. I wish you all the best! Big hugs from Germany …
Hi Joyce,
so lovely to hear from you! I think, we never met in person, although I visited The Lord’s Chapel quite a few times. But for sure, your name and Lee’s are so familiar. Actually, there is something that reminds me every day of the two of you. Please check my new blog post “Memories are made of this …”
Cheers from Bavaria, Germany’s deep south!
